Gillian's Blepharoplasty Experience
Gillian was bothered by her eyelids, she felt a heaviness resting on her eyelids and felt she didn't feel her best. She came to see Dr. Buonassisi for an in-depth Blepharoplasty consultation. During her consultation Dr. Buonassisi discussed her goals and what she can expect from the surgery:
- Tightened upper eyelid skin and muscles
- Reduction in the bulging upper eyelid fat that causes eyelid puffiness
- More show of the upper eyelid crease makes the eyes look bigger
- Incisions are hidden in the upper eyelid crease
Post Operative Care & Recovery
Following surgery, Gillian came to the clinic for a follow up 10 days after her surgery and then again after 4 months. Gillian had an amazing result, she was extremely happy with the surgery and the outcome. Immediately after the surgery Gillian didn't feel very much pain, however the incision site was quite itchy. She mentioned that she was concerned with itching the area in her sleep, but we are happy to report she did quite well.If you are concerned with itching post surgery Dr. Buonassisi recommends using your cool packs or taking an anti-histamine like Benadryl. Alternatively you can also opt for non-dissolving sutures as some patients find these to cause less itchiness than the dissolving sutures.
