Some of us treat our lips because they’ve always been small or thin to begin with, or we want to improve their shape, or make them more symmetrical. Others begin lip filler injections when they start seeing volume loss around the mouth and lips due to the aging process.

Often used to enhance and create a sharper jawline, these can be strategically placed in various areas to form definition. They can be used to either feminize or masculinize a face to your desired results.

LOWER EYE HOLLOWS/TEAR TROUGHS

Patients with sunken, tired or hollow-looking lower eyelids may think this is a skin issue – but it’s actually hollowness under the eye. Dermal fillers can be an excellent option to brighten the eye, and provide you with a more refreshed look. Filler can also help disguise lower eyelid bags in some patients.

The majority of the dermal fillers we use are based on hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance in the body. This is a type of sugar in the body that binds water molecules together, resulting in plump, voluminous skin and features. As we age, hyaluronic acid, collagen, elastin, and the overall tissues that make up the face begin to slowly break down, which is how our skin lift diminishes.

We also carry well-known brands that are based on poly-L-lactic acid or calcium hydroxylapatite, which work to plump the skin by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production process over time.

Some dermal filler products contain larger particles which are used to soften deep creases, while smaller particles are effective for eliminating fine wrinkles. Our experienced injectors carefully administer filler injections in the precise areas you wish to target and add volume to, for proportionally enhanced features and smoothed skin. This is a non-surgical treatment that doesn’t require any anesthesia, but topical numbing is available if you would prefer. Many of the FDA-approved products in Canada contain lidocaine, to subtly numb your injection areas during your treatment.
