I'm Developing Jowls. What are My Options?
Jowls form as a result of descent of facial fat and laxity of the platysma muscle. These tissues can be re-suspended surgically or camouflaged with injectable gel fillers. If the jowls are subtle, for example in a woman in her 30s or 40s, then camouflage with fillers is often helpful. In advanced cases however its best to suspend the jowl upward and tighten the muscle layers through a lower facelift. This can be done through small incision around the ear that heal extremely well.
